Hi, I'm Jim! I'm originally from sunny Florida and graduated from university there with a bachelor's degree in history and psychology. I've been living and working in Moscow since 2015 and also spent 1 year in Almaty. I received my CELTA certification in Budapest in 2015 and previously spent 3 years working with one of the largest language schools in Moscow.
Over the years, I've taught a wide range of different students, from children as young as 3 to adults in their 70s, as both individuals and groups. I've also conducted lessons with several high-profile corporate clients and am open to meeting wherever best suits you, whether that be in a cafe, at your office, or even at home. I have extensive experience with all of the Cambridge exams and can teach specialized courses to meet any particular needs you may have.
My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere where students can comfortably develop their fluency. To that end, I can also speak Russian at an intermediate level to help with any miscommunication that may arise. To share a little bit more about myself: outside of work, most of my time is occupied with fitness, video games, reading, and music, and I love meeting students with similar interests. Looking forward to the opportunity to work with you!
