Hello! My name is Elvira and I come from a small town between Umbria and Tuscany.
I have a nomadic, curious and traveler spirit. Since 2009 I have lived and worked in Italy, Spain, Norway and Germany, traveling for long periods also through South and Central America and South-East Asia.
In these years I have worked as a translator and interpreter, tour-guide, and since 2016 I have been teaching Italian, for which job I attended a specialization course at the University of Venice (CEDILS).
I like to teach Italian because, besides being my mother tongue, it is a language of which I love the sound, its idioms and its many nuances; moreover, I feel great satisfaction in teaching it to foreigners, I like to hear people speaking Italian with their own particular accent and observe the progress of my students!
For me, the study of a language is the first step to get in touch and understand the culture of a country: for this reason, in my lessons I like to integrate the study of grammar with cultural cues and activities to stimulate the curiosity of my students about Italy.
